Michel
Macréau

1935 - 1995

About the artist

Considered as one of the precursors of the Free Figuration, Michel Macréau quickly becomes very successful. After a period of doubt and depression, the emergence of artists like Robert Combas and Jean-Michel Basquiat gave him back his confidence. His pictorial style is in line with the crude art movement and his obsession with the human body is reflected upon his works.
