Ben, born Benjamin Vautier, is an artist who is part of a post-modern avant-garde movement and belongs to the postal art and Fluxus movements. The artist is known for his writings, texts, signatures, performances. Ben chooses to workshop the whole world with his “living sculptures”, his “Tas” or his writings that appear suddenly in the field of vision of the spectator, pulling a smile and often giving food for thought. Ben conveys a strong concept that leads him to produce an “art of the idea”, and, throughout his career, the artist will defend the theory, in an almost obsessive way, that in art it is not the beautiful or the ugly that counts, but to bring something new.
